WSWA believes the federal government should respect the right of states to establish a safe and well-regulated cannabis marketplace.
When a state legalizes adult use of cannabis and establishes an acceptable level of regulation the federal government should allow the market to function and give equitable treatment of businesses that operate within it.
The regulatory structure should ensure product safety, discourage under age access, create an effective tax collection regime and encourage innovation and choice for consumers, while eliminating diversion of cannabis to other states.
